David Henderson, MA, M.Div
Senior Staff Member

“Organizations are collective-cultural entities that are led, managed, and changed one person at a time.”

My professional work at the Breckenridge Institute is focused on helping organizations look below the surface of their day-to-day operations to identify the “invisible” forces at work that, for better or worse, determine effectiveness.  Research has shown that over 85% of the root causes of organizational performance problems are in the organization’s structures, systems and culture - “Put good people in bad systems, you get poor performance.” Creating a “Just Culture” where leaders, managers, and staff members trust the organization to do what it says can have dramatic positive effects on an organization’s financial and non-financial performance. I am particularly interested in helping organizations learn how performance and success are directly related to integrity. In other words, the alignment of what we say and do within the environment of the organization coupled with how we respond to the external business environment is a determining factor between being merely “good” and becoming “excellent.” My focus is to help organizations measure their level of integrity, identify strengths and weaknesses, and take necessary steps to bring about substantive cultural change and improved performance.
