My professional work has been focused on working at the “bleeding edge” of technology and software development, including the Agile Software movement and the broader application of agile principles to everyday business. I have also focused on developing and implementing cutting-edge organization development practices as a way of structuring, governing, and operating organizations so they achieve higher levels of performance and innovation.

Gareth's Background and Expertise

Gareth is a Senior Staff Member with the Breckenridge Institute®. He is an experienced Software Architect with 25 years of experience in software development and playing key roles in the delivery of robust solutions for Wall Street and the Telecommunications Industry. Much of Gareth’ early work in IT involved the development and improvement of computer languages, programming environments, and supporting tools, and he was an engineer on the Lucid Energize and C++ compilers in the early 1990’s. In addition, Gareth also has experience and expertise in helping managers, teams, and organizations overcome structural barriers to positive change and transformation, and using IT infrastructure to improve execution, operations, and the performance of work in organizations. He also has expertise in the use of the Breckenridge Institute’s portfolio of personality assessments to help managers and staff members navigate the protracted cultural and psychological process that people go through as part of an organizational transformation process. He is passionate about using information technology, organization development principles, and personality methodologies to improve organizational and individual performance. Gareth holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Bristol in England.
