My work focuses on using effective communication and interpersonal skills and my extensive technical experience to remove the barriers that often emerge between IT professionals, top managers, middle managers, and the end users of IT infrastructure. All too often, an organization’s IT systems are designed and maintained by IT professionals who give line managers what they think is needed to operate the business. Savvy top managers know that a high-performing IT system is a key element of maintaining competitive advantage, so it’s too mission-critical to delegate to organizational units that lack an intimate knowledge of an organization’s purpose, goals, structures, systems, and culture. My goal is to help design, build, document, and operate systems that enable organizations to get the results they’ve outlined in their strategic and tactical operating plans.

Cathy’s Background and Expertise

Cathy has over 20 years of experience working with a broad spectrum of IT infrastructure in the oil and gas, telecommunications, banking, and software industries, and various non-profits. She also has experience in strategic planning, project management, customer service, supervising technical staff, and in being a liaison between various business departments when gathering the business requirements needed to define IT system requirements and functionality. Formerly a senior-level DBA and Technical Analyst with the Oracle Corporation, MCI, Storage Technology Corporation, AMOC; Cathy’s technical expertise includes Microsoft Access, SQL Server, Oracle, Unix, OS2, Windows, Windows NT, IDMS, DB2, Sybase IQ and the suite of Oracle warehousing products. Cathy has a BA degree from Southern Illinois University.
