<<Back One of the indicators of student success in college is their correct perceptions of what college will be like and what it takes to be successful in college. The K-H Perceptions Inventory© is a 51-item self-report instrument in which the participant responds to statements about their perceptions of what college will be like for them as an incoming freshman. The statements describe perceptions in eight major categories of college related activities and relationships: Financial, Occupational, Academic, Family, Social, Religious, Physical, and Psychological. The individual responds on a 5-point scale from (1) Totally Disagree to (5) Totally Agree. The Inventory determines the number of correct perceptions and the number of misperceptions in each category. To help improve the probability of retention and success in college, the report (1) reinforces the student’s correct perceptions and (2) provides information to help the student correct misperception about college. • What the Assessment Measures: The client’s current perceptions about entering college For more information on how the K-H Perceptions Inventory© (College Edition) ™ can be used in student transition to, retention in and graduation from college visit the Educational Success Concepts website.
